  1. Diacraft says:

Who is this ‘skrillex’, and why should I care?

  2. No says:

Skrillex is a good friend of deadmau5, not his brother. He has a brother who calls himself !2th Planet. I like them. And My Name is Skrillex is not his best song. He has better ones.

  3. mikehawk says:

lyrics now the only part of music we don’t care about the instruments or synthed sounds in the case of dubstep also this is only one song he’s made many more

    • Vecors says:

yea i know right it’s not like we need punctuation or upper-case letters for sentences god it’s like all we care about now nothing about the message for example poems are a bit strange too with the way their word choices and order varies

    • Necrophagist says:

Cept it would be better if they used actual instruments…

      • Zach says:

Check out Breakin’ A Sweat by Skrillex. It uses real instruments in places. He had members from the Doors come and record some keyboard and guitar parts for it. And he used some voice samples from one of them.

        • pwny says:

I have to say, I enjoy that song quite a bit.

        • Bigals says:

I can’t beleive The Doors have anything to do with this….. it’s not terrible.. but it’s prty fn repititive and it uses generic Dubstep noises (which, btw, sound very very bad to my ears).

        • Blagg says:

IMO this is noise, not music.

        • Anon says:

So now musicians are praised IF they use instruments in their music?

          FFS

        • Bee says:

Because he has no talent whatsoever, and cannot play any of these instruments himself.

          • Zach says:

I would love to hear you try to make a dubstep song, or song of any genre of your choice, that sounds any better than Skrillex’s songs. Mainly so I could laugh at you.

        • Matt says:

Wow, a song that actually has instruments in it! You’re saying it like its a big deal. Well, i guess in this dumbfest (Or whatever you call it) music, its surprising to hear instruments. Go listen to some rock.

          • fred says:

Matt is really good in bed! I can hardly walk

          • Zach says:

I only say it like that because of the comment I was replying to. Oh, and I love rock, and while I see it kind of dumb to go to a dubstep “concert” it’s still fun to listen to, and I would much rather listen to this, coming from an artist that has actual musical talent (like singing/playing instruments, which most “artists” nowadays can’t do) than the ridiculously over praised “artists” in the industry today.

        • traaaafdaaaaaaag says:

That the girl worked together with the doors ( not really, Jim would never aprove it.)
does not make him any better..

          ass face

    • amillionminutes says:

Well grammar is not the only part of comments but it is appreciated.

  4. torilix says:

so i guess daft punk sucks, right?

  5. Trollinski says:

Yes kids, because it is ONLY OK to like the following bands:

    Queen
    Led Zepellin
    AC/DC

    • wasd says:

No, we should only listen to “Bohemian Rhapsody”, because it’s the ONLY good song out there. Mmhm, definitely.

PS OP, let me give you a hint: Around the World, Around The World, Around The World, Around The World…

    • Bigals says:

      OMG Add Pink Floyd..

But seriously, people should SEARCH more for music.. They all listen to whatever the big production companies throw between their teeth.

It’s like if you eat at ONE mexican restaurant and find it pretty decent and start saying it’s the greatest mexican restaurant ever… your opinion wouldn’t be that solid right? You gotta go out and explore and always search for better.. that is if you like Food, or music.. If it doesn’t matter that much to you, then sure, go ‘head and listen to the radio from time to time to relax.

    • ThePinkKirby says:

I highly dislike AC/DC, but I also hate dubstep.

    • Orly? says:

      LED ZEPPELIN. Zeppelin.

Also, that’s a piss-poor collection of bands. Led Zeppelin is indeed godly, but Queen’s pretty good and AC/DC is awful.

Why listen to dubstep when you can listen to jazz? Or classical music? Or *anything* else?

      • darwin6 says:

Why would anyone listen to dubstep?
Maybe I just spend too much time on the internet, but I think the whole dubstep genre, as well as its fanbase, is a very elaborate and quite succesful trolling.

  6. Sassafrass says:

“Lol guize i found this song that only has one line of lyrics thats repeated. Let’s exploit it and make anything without good lyrics look like it’s bad.”

Don’t be that guy. How many lyrics do you think Mozart wrote?

  7. Arkalidor says:

music != song. You can have a good music with no lyrics. The stupidy here is in the hands of the person who decided he should write down the lyrics of a music by Skrillex…

  8. Fozno says:

Completely agreed! Also Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, etc. are also very bad artist.

    • darwin6 says:

Did you just compare Skrillex to Mozart, Beethoven and Vivaldi?
I almost said I don’t want to live on this planet anymore, but actually it’s you who should leave not only the planet, but preferably the Solar system, and if you want to do it right, maybe you should move out of this Universe.

    • Wolf says:

I’m not even going to bother with telling you how wrong you are.

    • Dylan R says:

i know you’re joking, but I actually feel that there is a connection between classical/orchestral and dubstep

I’m a lover of both, and it’s most likely due to the fact that they focus on sound progression, and in similar ways

      just a thought.

      • Bigals says:

Are you fn serious? There is no sound progression in fn dubstep for fuk’s sake.. it’s a series of recorded or computer generated sounds looped up, it’s repetitive and doesn’t even sound good.

You’re proly one of those kids who listen to classic/orchestral music to appear interesting. My friend says he loves Mozart and is also the BIGGEST LIVING FAN of Lady Gaga, does not compute.

I sincerely hope you were joking/

        • Andyman117 says:

I, for one, will listen to and usually enjoy any music that I am pointed at. I was pointed at dubstep, and I enjoyed it. I also has a large collection of CD’s of recordings of compositions of 14th- late 19th-century composers, and listen to them often. I also listen to rap, country, alt-rock, indy-rock, acoustic rock, etc.
          Problem?

          • Bigals says:

The good music you listen to, you’re not listening to it properly and/or do not understand it. You said it well “I will listen and enjoy anything I am pointed to” Jacob says “Listen to Skrillex” Listen to Skrillex.

Soon you will be eating sh1t my friend and you’ll say “I enjoy anything I am served”.

            • Anon says:

              ^This.

How insane must you be to compare the exquisite, complex masterpieces of classical music to the sounds of computers grunting which have been labeled as dubstep?

              • ttmab says:

Agreed. I have listened to a little bit of dubstep, and there were a few songs I enjoyed, but I never once thought they were anything close to classical music. I think many of the artists themselves would agree. Either way, take any one of Skrillex’s songs and hold it up to a Beethoven symphony, or Mozart’s Requiem. Not. Even. Close.

        • BenoitXII says:

ZOMG VIDEO GAMES ARE JUST MADE ON COMPUTER, THEY AREN’T REAL GAMES WTF GROW UP.
This is what you sound like.

  9. natalie says:

Lyrics to me are the LEAST important thing. I don’t listen to music for deep meaning, I listen to music because I want something up-beat to listen to when driving or doing hw. People hate on pop music because of how stupid it is, but honestly who cares if it’s stupid? Who cares if lil wayne is incomprehensible through the whole song, or if LMFAO is conceited, I like the tunes and the beat.

  10. dumbassery says:

You don’t need lyrics for a good peice of music.

  11. madsweeney says:

I don’t dislike Skrillex because of the lyrics in his songs, I dislike him because his music is crap. So much better dubstep out there than this crap.

Face it, Skrillex is EDM’s Nickelback.

    • le fromage says:

finally a true statement here. I don’t give a damn what people like and dislike, but if they have no idea what they’re talking about, stfu! those with the smallest brain always have the biggest mouth…

  12. umad? says:

Good music doesn’t need lyrics. Bad music with bad lyrics just makes it worse. Good music with good lyrics = awesomesauce.

  13. black metal ist krieg says:

BLACK METAL IST KRIEG! (check it out on youtube)

    • Bee says:

Svrfing ist krieg! (look for Trve svrf black metal, if you can take a joke)

I like the harsher forms of metal, but in smaller doses than my power, viking, folk, prog, thrash and classic metal.

  14. Maiza says:

Deadmau5,Justice,DaftPunk are really good dedicated music producers Skrillex is a disgrace in my opinion…Don’t compare Mozart and Rock Genres to this…

  15. SmokinGun95 says:

    *goes to youtube*
*listens to a couple seconds of the song*

    ”…this sucks.”

  16. ffffff says:

    Skrillex isn’t dubstep.

    *waits for sh*tstorm*

  17. mikehawk says:

Skrillex is dubstep, he just does it closer to techno. Also listen to Blood on the Dance Floor their lyrics are sh!t (to most people but i’m weird and happen to like them) but they have some pretty decent instruments and/or synthed sounds but their lyrics doesn’t make them bad. My point is different people like different types of music so shut the hell up and stop trying to convince everyone that your way is the only way which is also why old people shouldn’t be on the internet.

*Crawls under the table in the fetal position awaiting sh!tstorm*

  18. KeineMasteer says:

Skrillex is a really good DJ

  19. Andrea says:

This is exactly how I feel about all of that “genre”.

  20. plomax says:

I looked up this song. Half the commenters I saw actually asked to get thumbs up. Sad.

  21. sugartastic says:

WE ALL LIVE IN A YELLOW SUBMARINE.

  22. Xionix says:

Okay I don’t want to sound like a fanboy here (I don’t even listen to dubstep as much as other genres) but it is supposed to be a kind of electronic music and would you really expect any lyrics?

  23. Daniel John Merritt says:

There are clear definitions for dubstep, and no one seems to care about what they are, “My name is Skrillex” is not and should never be considered Dubstep. It’s electro-house. Saying “lol watz difernce?” is like saying what’s the difference between Queen and Jay Z, they’re both just rock music.

    Here, read some of this

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dubstep

  24. Downvoting Roman says:

At least Skrillex is better than memebase “favourite” Freddy Mercury

  25. Burby says:

The only thing that is legitimately dumb about that is the fact that someone found it necessary to write the lyrics down.
I myself like some of Skrillex’s work and dubstep in general, but there’s plenty of tracks among the genre that I find unappealing. And what downvoting roman up there says is something I also very much disagree with, Freddy Mercury was great.
P.S. if for any unlikely reason someone would wanna know my musical preference, I like glitch or breakcore mostly.

  26. mikehawk says:

skrillex like so many artists have some good songs and some bad songs i’m sure most of you know an artist that you like but their are just some songs by them you hate

    • Bigals says:

Hmmm that’s true (Except for Pink Floyd, I happen to love every single song they have made). But I have listened to a lot of Skrillex’s work and I haven’t found anything I like eventhough I am a pretty open person and also love electronic music. I just think that most mainstream songs these days are of lower quality and are just produced massively to generate maximum profits; the art and all that is beautiful is gone.

  27. Notamused says:

    Read : Perspective

Let’s just leave it at that, yes?

  28. fred says:

    STOP THE FARTING!

  29. blu says:

yeah… i’m just going to ignore this.

  30. Derp says:

Alternate caption: Yeah, I know. You’ve said that about 400 times.

  31. Mindy says:

Skrillex isn’t dubstep he is brostep..you want to hear real dubstep? Look up Burial on youtube listen to Fostercare..now that’s real dubstep..

  32. mikehawk says:

I agree with Bigals although I do like some of Skrillex’s songs most mainstream music today sucks although i’m a little biased because Skrillex was the first dubstep artist I heard and it was before dubstep became mainstream and people said dafuq if you asked them if they listened to dubstep

  33. Nicole E. says:

Guys…what do you think his name is? It’s not quite clear.

  34. TheClerk says:

    HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH……WIPE OUT!!!!

  35. Pfeffernoose says:

in the deep deep future, music sounds like this

    UUDDLRLRBA

    for 10 minutes

    ~Noose~

  36. LOLZ says:

Just like that looser mozart! I meen like he dint even know how to write deep lyrics ethirer! Fukk!!1

  37. datlink says:

Seeing how I can’t hear the lyrics in musics or understand what they are saying until I read them myself. I could care less about lyrics I care more about melody, if it has good melody then I can dig it.

Also fighting over what is “good music” is just stupid, we all know banging on rocks makes the best music since it’s soo organic and real.

  38. spoilers says:

There is no music upon this earth that compares to Vale Decem.

  39. Kristen says:

I’ve been a Skrillex fan for quite a while now . I like it. Haters gonna hate.
Also, a much more fun way to do lyrics for Skrillex: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1m8bBP1l1_c&feature=related

  40. BlackHal0 says:

Someones make Dr. Evil a meme. the Air quotes meme :D

  41. aqmedtskivel says:

i was listening to that song WHILE reading it. what a coincidence

  42. AJ13696 says:

Please let this become a meme.

  43. Hannah says:

I can admit that I enjoy electronic/dubstep music every now and then, including some Skrillex. It’s a mood preference. However, too much repetition of the exact phrase can become monotone, and the fart-like noises annoy me, as I often find in these genres :l I’m picky about it at least.

  44. Drew Burns says:

Lol screw you guys. Everyone hates skrillex because for some reason he’s the face of dubstep. He’s not the best but he’s a pretty creative artist. There are a worse plights on what we consider music these days that we should ostracize on the internet before we weed out the artists that are on the fence.

  45. Tex says:

    Disregard Skrillex. Acquire Blackmill.

  46. Mr.T says:

they forgot the little “yeah”s, my favorite part

  47. anon says:

    Those are “lyrics”
You don’t listen to dub step for the awesome lyrics.
    /facepalm

  48. Frank says:

It only makes sense that he has those “lyrics.” After all, his hair is the style of a cancer patient.
