SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!

  2. Zaz says:

Typing speed on touch surface = 1/40 your normal typing speed.

  3. uh says:

Combine the disadvantages of a laptop (big and heavy) with the disadvantages of a tablet (no keyboard and perhaps no actual operating system), throw in two more devices to make it ridiculously expensive and BAM, you have a great product!

    • Bhazor says:

Don’t forget a low quality camera you can only charge by carrying a bulky laptop around.

Or questioning exactly why you’d ever want to type on a tablet. Ever.

Also it’s kinda sad calling it a “Life Book”. I mean really?

      • Capitan Cry on My Shoulders says:

they’ve had the Lifebook line of laptops since at least the 90′s. I had one way back in 1998, and I’d buy this one too, if it ever comes out (though I’m partial to the Q550). Fujitsu makes good stuff. It was the only laptop that I would buy again if I was given a do-over.

      • xiromisho says:

The “Connector” is probably just a mini-usb connection, I doubt the only method of charging is one single connector that can only be found in one specific place – this isn’t an apple product, it can have two ports to charge.

    • Downvoting Roman says:

      ^this

why the heck would anyone want to type on a touchscreen keyboard on a notebook?
“Oh, this looks so shiny and stylish, imma puke rainbows!” … jebus

    • Jake says:

Big and heavy? I would call a laptop many things… But big and heavy is not among them.

    • not an idiot says:

This is a terrible idea, and I’m ashamed of this website for seeing how many people are saying “take my money”.

  4. blatiatia says:

kinda pointless if you want to use that big pad and your notebook…

  5. Frank says:

Well, still no real keyboard. And the forgot to install a coffee maker.

  6. Ironachillesz says:

So now I’ll be screwed three times over if i spill something on it?

  7. Czymsim says:

I don’t know why I would like to stick my camera to a laptop and my phone in it. And typing on a touch screen? I’m glad there are phones with touch screens and slider keyboards, having a laptop without one would be a pain in the ass.

  8. scottahemi says:

injury D: how do you hurt youself on a mechanical keyboard, and HOW DO YOU HIT THE RIGHT KEYS ON A TOUCH SCREEN KEYBAORD D:

other then that it’s cool :D

    • martinmelka says:

Never worked with touch-based OS? Rightclick is done by holding your finger steady for like 1.5s

      • go1988 says:

I think with “right keys” s/he didn’t meant the right mouse button, but the right (correct) keys on the keyboard. I never used a tablet for an extendet period of time, but writing on a touch screen is considerably harder than on an actual keyboard (try hitting the right keys witout looking).

other than that thanks for the info, I didn’t know that :)

      • Aibohphobia says:

that is like 1.5 seconds longer than I want… games?

      • scottahemi says:

not what I ment. i mean that keys have a shape they have a feeling you put your pointers on F and J and immediatly know where all the keys are. no looking needed, except for making sure the caps lock is off.

you ca’t do that with a flat plate of glass D: even if it had a bump showing where the F and J was it would be useless. unless you type while looking at the touch screens psudo keys.

also that sounds completly obnoxious D:

    • Jake says:

Just now while typing this comment I lost another finger.
      I wish i could type on a tablet…

  9. Die Seele des Schwertes says:

Do all the parts work without each other? Because I think it kinda said that they would “share hardware.” I don’t own (or want to own) a tablet or a camera, and I really don’t want to combine my phone and laptop…

  10. taho says:

I think that the idea is interesting. About being practical… I don’t know. Only time will tell. This is good alternative to the apple products (which I hate). The only thing I can complain about is that there is no real keyboard.

  11. gregaaron89 says:

    eww, touchscreen keyboard
until you come up with some star trek style holographic keys with some actual resistance, no thanks.
(well in star trek they actually used touch pads so- SHUT UP YOU GET THE POINT)

    • nate says:

I seem to recall reading recently that one of the big companies (i want to say apple, but it was a while ago so i’m not sure) was looking into tactile resistance for smartphones and tablets using some kind of magnetic field technology or something, so that actually might not be too far away

  12. Ziriken says:

    ugh… this is awful…
    F**k Tablets.
All i need is an mp3 player that costs $20-40.
    The camera sucks.
And now group it all together so it sucks the life out of a sh**ty laptop even faster.

  13. Inb4 “Yo Dawg…” meme.

  14. Hoff says:

Touchscreen keyboards are the future. Start practicing now. As for the comments about the laptop being big and bulky…really? This thing might top out at 6lbs. Since you can take any part of it with you and it is automatically sync’d to all your other devices once reconnected, you don’t really have to worry about lugging around a “massive” 6lb laptop. The ability to switch between a keyboard, sketch pad and note pad on the fly will come in very handy for many on the go professionals.
There is still a significant lack of technical detail available, but imo this device will set a new standard for personal electronics inoperability. Unless they screw up the interface (physical and/or virtual), then this thing will fall flat on it’s face.

    • newbzoors says:

I refuse touchscreen keyboards becoming the future. I will use physical keyboard whenever possible. They won’t die out, they’ll just become less common if anything.
People complaining about it being big and bulky just mean you can’t just conveniently put it in your pocket and be on your way. If I want to just take my camera someplace, I’d be kind of screwed because I’d also have to lug the rest of that contraption around.

    • ney says:

Unless touchscreens gain the ability to become 3-dimentional and flexibal to emulate the feeling of a physical keyboard, they will never be the future.

    • bobert says:

Touch screes are not the future of any thing unless they figure out how to have some sort of inflatable membrane to simulate keys when active and to be reconfigurable. smartphones= small and low weight tolerance= good for touchscreen. laptops= only useful >14″= space for keyboard

    • Rox says:

Touchscreen keyboards are just as out of fashion as physical ones! MOTION CONTROLLED KEYBOARDS are the REAL future! Better sell your phones and tablets and invest in a Kinect so you can start practicing!

As for the device itself; If I ever wanted to plug a smaller thing into a bigger thing, it would not be in order to get a bigger screen. It would be to get a better keyboard. The mobile thing being the keyboard is the opposite of what it needs to be.

    • A new standard for personal electronics “inoperability”? Agreed. Combining the limitations of multiple devices all into one will probably make it completely inoperable. Touchscreens aren’t the future, they are a compromise for mobility–good enough for browsing, messaging, or streaming media. Using one as the keyboard for a laptop makes doing any real work on it impossible.

Better solutions already exist. Make the *screen* a tablet, and dock it with a physical keyboard (which also doubles your battery life).

    • scottahemi says:

only if each key is an individual touch screen and seperated from the others so you actualy know where you’re fingers are on the keyboard. oh xomehting lucke this whuzl happwn akk tjw tinw

  15. Arsnof says:

Why not use the phone for the trackpad?

  16. fg says:

    3D concept art

  17. SlamTackle says:

I love not being able to use my laptop while using my camera or tablet, and when I do use my laptop it’s too big to carry around and has a terrible touch-screen keyboard. Why, this must be my dream laptop right here.

This is a laughably bad idea. It’s either a joke or a product that will never be manufactured. It’s a worse idea than the N-Gage.

  18. xcodehx says:

That tablet has a really weird form factor. Why would you choose to use it for anything other than a keyboard? The dimensions aren’t exactly ideal/optimized for any type of media usage that a typical tablet nowadays handles. Other than that, cool concept.

  19. 11thwarrior says:

    PÓ CARALHO!
    I WANT THIS!!!!!! D=<

  20. _Rage-Quit_ says:

I can image how grimy that touch screen keyboard would get after a while. Pretty much everything that comes of this laptop looks like it can only be charged by that laptop.

  21. Metalcommand says:

The camera is useless; how do you aim at things? Pointing the laptop towards it? Besides, most smartphones nowadays have more megapixels than a (cheap) digital camera has, so you can dus unplug your telephone out of the laptop and take a picture with the telephone. I do like the concept with the tablet, though.

  22. anon says:

Fujitsu makes horrible computers. I would know, I own one. It looks cool, but it would be horrifically expensive, slow and overpriced, and none of the devices would work properly. I swear I spend more time getting my computer to do things properly than actually doing those things.

  23. dis1guy says:

You just invented the laptop. Prepare to be sued.

  24. desu says:

so how much did they get paid to feature this?

  25. El Derpo says:

Useless and expensive. People will buy it. I don’t want to live on this planet anymore

  26. trappeddark2 says:

    Advertise ALL the things!

  27. Deefry says:

    Obvious sponsored post is obvious.

  28. zimnic says:

I really can’t tell if good idea, or worse idea ever. A good tablet has all those things in it already, so why buy all the set? The pecies aren’t sold separately too…

  29. gpts says:

Mmm… I sense a shift of butthurt in the apple fanboi collective….

  30. SaederKrupp says:

…and of course about 20 surfaces more that can be scratched. Or get dead pixels. Or partly cease to function. Your laptop keyboard ever stopped working? Mine hasn’t.

  31. Brock Peters says:

So this is what decision by committee yields. Reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Homer helps his brother Herbert build the ‘The Homer’ monstrosity of a car.

  32. Steve says:

I bet if this was the iLifebook, 90% of the people here saying it’s a horrible idea would be foaming at the mouth for one.

  33. Murphy says:

I can see the appeal of being able to integrate all of them into a single unit and have them share hardware and data. If the actual laptop was fully operational in and of itself and the tablet just picked up the slack that would be pretty cool. But if the laptop is dumbed down and requires the tablet to run at full steam, well, not so much. As for the touchscreen keyboard, yeah that would be irritating but I think I personally could get used to it. Neat concept though. The camera is an interesting touch I’m not sure I would have done though. Too lazy to look up prices, but I can imagine I could get a much more powerful laptop for a similar cost though. I dunno. I give it an “A” for effort.

  34. Sigmund says:

Its conceptually cute, but objectively pointless. Tablet computers are created with portability in mind. if you’re just going to carry around something the size of a laptop, why not just carry around a laptop?

  35. Jake J. says:

Tablets have always been dead to me. They disgust me.

  36. GunnzAkimbo says:

    The casual rich.

  37. Eclipse says:

I love how people are complaining about this even though it doesn’t exist yet…

  38. Someone says:

Or you could just buy a normal laptop and save your self about 600$.
