because it’s a crapp 150 laptop. laptops are too expensive. the ipad has everything I need. browsing, youtube,a wide range of usefull apps. the ipad 2 however is overpriced.
All of Apple’s prices are too damn high.
And the iPad sucks ass anyways.
An iPad costs 500 bucks. A netbook costs 300.

yea except there are no USB ports, you can’t use half the internet cuz it doesn’t support flash and there is no optical drive. Also its not upgradeable, you just have to buy a new one.

I do believe that calling any laptop that costs as much as an iPad “upgradeable” is a bit of a stretch.
Well, you can always put in more RAM, better hard drive, for some select laptops the GPU is even swappable. But for an iPad-priced laptop, it’s probably just RAM and HD.
My $500 HP has the option to upgrade the hard drive, ram, screen, cpu, and wifi card. So everything but the video card basically.

Doesn’t have a Disk Drive either
I used an iPad to take down all my courses last year, and will do so this year. Typing on the touchscreen isn’t a pain at all, it just takes a day or two to get used to it.
Flash content is less than 15% of the internet, as major sites are converting to HTML5 format because the iPad market is so huge. Many Miniclip games, like Gravity Guy, are available at the App Store. USB drives can be used with an app, the name escapes me. And who the hell even uses CDs anymore?

Want a portable computer? Laptop.
Need something that can be carried in your pocket? Smart phone.
This is cheaper and faster than any laptop with comparable specs (flash memory, 10″ screen), and a smartphone requires a data plan (which costs 60 bucks a month where I live, a total ripoff), and isn’t a note-taking tool.
HP Pavilion dm1z. 11.6″ screen. Does not use Intel Atom. Also cheaper. Has all the connectivity options you’ll need.
I fail to see how something that can run an actual OS, and costs $380 is not faster and not cheaper than an iPad.
You forget that Apple screens their internet, so they never see those sites that list laptops for reasonable prices.
I can’t count the times my netbook-wielding friends have complained about short battery life (4-5 hours), slow startup times, and how Word keeps freezing up.
I should also add that I used only Windows until six months ago (now I’m a Linux convert), and was sick of how fast the system comes to a crawl.

Sorry to break it to you, but you could have saved yourself $50 and not needed to convert your lifestyle.

It’s called efficiency. Typing school notes is much faster than writing them by hand. I don’t think that’s a valid factor to judge a person’s social life by.

It’s great you can take your notes down on a device like the ipad.
Then you can easily save them to a USB pen or external drive and plug them into a friends laptop to share and callaborate later on while your ipad is charging.

Bob, we know there are dongles and whatnot to give the iPad USB etc. The whole point is, a netbook gives you all of that out of the box! If I want something that is comfortable for longterm typing, that I want to hook-up a pendrive to, maybe give me a secondary screen, then I’m lugging around so much crap anyway I might as well get a netbook. For much less, I might add.
yea, people may not use CDs, you know except for people who have cd players in their cars. Also, I dont care about cd drives… I care about optical drives which can read and write CDs/DVDs/Blu-Ray discs.
Also… remember those things call tablet computers which had USB ports? optical drives and ran an actual OS? Yea no one buys those any more because Steve Jobs successfully set technology back 5 years with these toys.

I bought an Eee PC off ebay for $100 (AWW YEAH) and I got a massive battery for $30 that will give me 8-10 hours of battery life on a single charge as long as I don’t use a lot of Wi-Fi or bluetooth. The only drawback is that it takes over half that long to get to a full charge.
