Episode III: Different facial expression as he only became Vader at the end
Last one, mask was removed, so it wasn’t the same the whole movie, GRAND TOTAL: 2
First I thought exactly the same, though it’s not 3 movies, but 4. He turns into this Darth Vader at the end of Episode 3.
It’s still one movie short, isn’t it? No it’s not!
Before being Darth Vader he was Anaking Skywalker. If we forget about Episode 1, where he was just a little boy (which was a decent actor), we still have to count Episode 2. Why? Oh please don’t tell me Hayden Christensen has NOT just one facial expression. And Darth Vader and Anaking Skywalker are the same person. It counts!
See…5 movies. He’s at least equal. And since he started about 35 years earlier he wins!

How could 169 people like this? In all the 3 movies Vader/Anakin has atleats 3 different facial expressions and all of them in that 10 minute period his not wearing his helmet.

He only showed no facial expressions in three movies. Vader doesn’t count anything else since the original three were the best. He’s embarrassed about all the other stuff.
He probably showed more emotions on his face than Bella did in the entire Twilight series, when Luke opened his helmet for a few minutes near the end of Return of the Jedi

The question isn’t how many movies Darth Vader was in, but rather how many movies did he have only one facial expression. In all the prequels, he had multiple facial expressions. In Return of the Jedi, he had his mask and then the removed mask expressions, so Jedi doesn’t count. In the Empire Strikes Back, Luke cuts off Vader’s head in the cave to reveal his own face. Thus Empire doesn’t count. So that’s a grand total of ONE movie where he’s only got one facial expression.
