I don’t know if that was intentional or not but history shows that the Spartan warriors often had homosexual affairs within ranks to bolster their courage and will to fight to save each other from death and that this was encouraged by their leaders as well.
That would be the Theban Sacred Band. That had some 400-500 men in it, all of them gay and in love with each other, and those guys kicked pretty much anyone’s ass. Including a Spartan force some 3 or 4 times larger. Don’t remember where I read it though, so I can’t give a source for this. Sorry.

I still can’t understand why people listen to Shakira.
I can understand watching her music videos with the sound muted, but listening to that tone deaf singing and inane lyrics?
I have to agree. Although, I admit, I can listen to her stuff when she’s singing in Spanish, which I don’t speak a word of. I can pretend it’s something meaningful and romantic.
The reason i prefer to listen her in spanish is coz im from her same country, and every time she sings in english and acts by popularity… i feel so… anti-cultured, i mean like as if she was denyin where is she from >.>

Why does anyone listen to any pop tart discovered after the creation of Autotune? Because they’re brainwashed into it. But then they wake up and realize these people are tone deaf and only chosen for their body. That’s why the public goes wild over real talent like Susan Boyle. Yet the music industry doesn’t accept the fact we’re sick and tired of tone deaf trash.
Funfact: Shakira does not autotune. So I don’t see where you are coming from here…
Autotuning is still quite a new thing that’s been brought into the industry. And even then it hasn’t been that popular with mainstream artists due to the controversy around it. Pretty sure there aren’t subliminal messages in mainstream media saying “Listen to autuned songs.” So once again I have no idea where you’re coming from when you make that claim that people are “brainwashed into it.
Isn’t every song autotuned now? Not to T-Payne/Kayne levels, but just to make the pitch even and perfect throughout?
every hip-hop, pop, rap, song, techno, etc. most variants of rock, soul, reggae, and other styles of music that require talent require such talent because they can’t be as easily auto-tuned.

Shakira first released an album in 1990. Autotune has only been around since 1997. There are plenty of stars that won’t go near it (including many good looking ones) and some that use it purely as tool to change the sound rather than as a correction e.g. that Cher song that was everywhere in the late 90s, Believe I think it was called. Get your facts straight before going off on one of your little rants, someone might actually listen then.
