Well , if you are french , you say “bak”
Oh, I pronounced Bach in German.
So I don’t get the joke the first Time.
Either way, it is funny. I am Brazillian and here we pronounce correctly. But it is funny to think the giant Arnold talking “I’ll be Bach”
It’s like “it’s a trap/crap/nap/map/etc” thing, those are all funny. So is the “bach/bak/back/baj/whatever” for this one, still would refer to “back” (as if pronounced in different accent, for example)
Doesn’t really make a huge difference if you pronounce Bach correctly. Since the Terminator says it with a semi-German accent.
It’s funny because of the way Arnold would pronounce “Bach”, duh.

If you are going to complain about pronunciation, at least get it right. The problem lies not in the ‘ck’ but in the ‘a’, being long, or soft. You had it right in comparing it to ‘loch’, but ‘lock’ sounds the same. Either way, with Arnie’s accent, Bach would sound the same if he did say back… so get over it. It’s funny.
So why is it that when I hear a Scot say, “loch,” it is always pronounced “lock?”
The joke is a play on words. If you are too stupid to get it, then YOU are the one who fails.
But we pronounce loch as “lock”, so your point is lost.

if “bach” and “back” has the same pronounciation, thats not funny. Just imagine Arnold saying “I’ll be (correctly-pronounced-bach)” that should sound funny, rather than “I’ll be back” which is just the original.
