It’s a tenso
Tenso is when you slowly focus on something in the background you didn’t expect. Like a man making a face like he’s terribly afraid, or a serial killer about to strike. In this case, it’s the man screaming and clutching his head while the naked couple goes into foreplay.
Baroque art is weird like that.
This artwork is actually from the mannerist period of art, where the artist purposefully messes with the viewers head. It came about as a rejection of the Renaissance era, where all the art was about harmony and beauty. Btw, the two main figures are Venus and Cupid. Venus was Cupid’s mother in ancient Roman mythology.
The word “tenso” is Portuguese for “tense”. This is a meme that spread through Brazilian blogs and forums, and consists of an image edited to form a sequence that closes up the frame and emphasizes a “tense” face or situation. In form, it is similar to a common vertical 4-Pane, a common exploitable format; although the number of actual frames may vary.
Sometimes the close up reveals something that is not seen in the original image, creating an effect of surprise. In this way, it delivers an effect similar to the when you see it, you’ll shit bricks meme

You know what’s even worse about this pic? The woman and the young man are actually Venus and Cupid and…if you know your Roman myths you would realize that they are mother and son. Maybe that’s why the guy back there is all tenso’d out.
Nah, back then (I mean in old Greece because that’s where those myths were created, the Romans just “imported” them) probably no one would have cared, those situations weren’t abnormal.

Well, the Greek gods and goddesses were a messed up bunch. Hera was Zeus’ sister and his wife, for instance. Most of the gods and goddesses were related by blood.

What’s most astonishing to me is the fact that they haven’t blurred the nipples yet. And the pee wee. In fact, they should have blurred the whole picture for depiction of abominable things, youknowwhat, cantwritethatontheinternet.
Then again, western civilization is based on myths like that and pictures like that. You could say, it is based on not blurring nipples. Think about that. And draw your conclusions.
It’s a classical painting. Therefore the nipples don’t need to be blurred. Only on living human women are they blurred. And in Japanese animation.
