    Not funny.

    • Cory says:

Yes it is, that is freakin funny as hell, sums up the whole story. lighten up man! :P

      • Francis says:

Very, very funny! I liked the movie, after a fashion, and even so, this strip SO busts it up!

        Pew pew! Pew!

      • AvatarFTW says:

The movie was way better than this, IDK why so many people are hating on it.

        • FreeLion says:

I loved it, too, dspite some imperfections. The characters, story, setting, plausibility, heroism, depth and meaningfulness were all there for me. –seen it twice, with plans to see it several more times in 3-D. Loved the flying, and a half dozen scenes will keep me coming back.
“Illigitimi non carborundum” (not real Latin, but appropriate to help deal with trolls).

          • Steve says:

Plausibility!? Are you fucking serious? There were blue people running around shoving their hair follicles into animals and connecting with them…. This movie was just a remake of Pocahontas. ZERO originality.

            • Maxwelldl says:

              Not Pochahontas

              Not Ferngully

Neither one even so much as made me choke up. I watched with laughter and a nagging feeling of “this is stupid” throughout both of them.

Avatar? I was bawling by the end with a feeling of awe/regret/hope/love/joy/excitement that could only be reproduced by watching the movie again. It put everything I thought I would hate into a movie and makes me love it.

I have seen hundreds of films since I was born in ’86. Plenty made me laugh, more made me think, but none made me cry. Not until Avatar. I was practically dragged in by my siblings, thinking that it would be the stupidest movie of them all. I was never more wrong. I have never, EVER seen a film that has made me feel the way Avatar has.

              • Ashley says:

                Not Pocahontas
                Not Ferngully.

It was a flippin’ remake of Dances With Wolves. And I don’t even LIKE Kevin Costner. (I’ll admit, the scenery was pretty, and the special effects were nice. But the story was old. REALLY old.)

But I don’t like Cameron either. Titanic sucked too.

Where the hell’s Frank Capra when you need him? (Yes, I’m a classic movie buff. Deal with it.)

On the plus side, using LOLcats to tell the story… great idea. Reminds me of Rinkworks.com Movie-A-Minute.

          • Steve says:

          • Fuzz Buzz says:

Story? Characters? Who are you kidding?

  2. McFirst says:

    FIRST !

  3. Snard says:

Should have been titled “I Can Has Oscars?”

  4. Chris S. says:

The whole thing makes sense now…

  5. fail says:

    never seen something THAT unfunny

  6. Jojo says:

why did you have to taint an awesome movie with stupid lolcat language :(

  7. Massadonious says:

If anything, this serves to remind filmmakers not to take themselves or their material too seriously. I can go enjoy the movie now knowing that this is pretty much what Cameron’s pretentious plot boils down to.

  8. Chi says:

I thought this was actually funny. Get a sense of humor – LOLspeak is funneh! And this will give me a whole different level of enjoyment when I see the film.

  9. lewarcher says:

    Love it! You rock, popkiller!

  10. Beth says:

Okay, this has to be the funniest thing EVER.

  11. Svant says:

Aww, it was funny. Pretty much summarizes the whole thing :D
Doesn’t stop me from being madly in love with the movie though.
    To the author: do moar!

  12. Kat says:

I love how lolspeak is hated on all ICHC-affiliated sites. It’s so delightfuly ironic 8D C’mon guys, go check out the comments on ICHC, you’ll see REAL lolspeak XD

And I found this funny, so there! o:

I kinda want to see this movie, but I think I’m gonna wait until I can rent it.

    • Bastian says:

Waiting for rental would be about the worst thing you could do…. See it in 3D if you can but it definitely requires the big screen to take in all the pretty.

  13. soph says:

    they do look like cats!!
i laughed a little inside, you gotta like the lolspeak!!
    lol

  14. Andrew says:

This one sucks. Lamest thing ever. If this “Summary” was on a scale of 1 – 10, it’d be a 2.

  15. poop du jour says:

PEW PEW PEW!!!! OMFG I laughed for at least 45 minutes total today at this one. Aside from the Sawyer fucking arm wrestling one, this is the funniest comixed ever.

  16. goodness-geishas says:

    lawlz

  17. sdadassad says:

It makes me sad because the ending slide is true.

  18. Yuva says:

    Avatar Summary: Protect Nature

  19. Name(required) says:

The movie was a little deeper than that.. come on… there’s been worse. Anybody seen max Payne? that was just like, ‘you killed mah family’ pow pow pow. avatar had a deep storyline cause he has to decide whether he wants to protect Pandora and the na’vi or not. i give the movie a 10/10 and even if you thought the plot was rubbish you have to at least admit the special effects were amazing. because they were.

    • Random says:

‘he movie was a little deeper than that.. come on… there’s been worse. ‘

Someone rewrote the base plot for Poccahontas [the disney one] and had to scratch out only like a dozen words.

And it fit oh so perfectly for Avatar.

‘and even if you thought the plot was rubbish you have to at least admit the special effects were amazing. because they were.’

Dude, just saying; oh it was rubbish plotwise but the special effects are so great!!!! isn’t a real good defense.

Not for a book, not for a movie, not for a cartoon. Not for anything.

  20. Tolq says:

Bwaahaha – I love it. Especially like the sudden jumps between images 3/4 and 4/5. And it will probably end up being true, too…

  21. whogivesacrapaboutfirst says:

All these immature little girls that think its cool to “first” things need to go back to kindergarten… and as for the comix, you could say this about most movies after star wars, nobody has come up up with an original plot since then, and star wars was a rip from Shakespeare …

    • Baise says:

Hah, you think Shakespeare wrote anything original? He was just able to take old stories and rewrite them in a way that the king of the time felt was pleasing.

      • Ashley says:

Actually, very true. I did a thesis in college about how Shakespeare never wrote anything original either.

        Romeo & Juliet
        MacBeth
        A Midsummer Night’s Dream

All ripped from stories much older than itself… mostly Greek mythology and dramas.

  22. Manda Meowsalot says:

I haven’t seen the movie yet but I think this is funny. ^-^

  23. "Romeo, I'm thine father"...? says:

    Re: Star Wars

Lucas drew the majority of its influence from Joseph Campbell’s “The Hero With a Thousand Faces,” as well as Japanese samurai epics (including, I believe, the word ‘jedi’). Saying that Star Wars is a rip-off of Shakespeare is like saying — well, it’s just plain wrong.

This Avatar summary, however, is quite right.

I don’t know about all of this hype about Avatar “finally” being made — Fern Gully and Disney’s Pocahontas have been around for years.

  24. Adam says:

    pew pew pew pew!!!!!!

  25. Cinerina says:

This is my favorite thing ever to come out of Comixed. I look at it every day and I printed it to have on the wall and as a bookmark.
    Oscars.

  26. Marco says:

    Hehe, pretty funny.

I loved the movie. Really. I thought it was the best movie I’ve seen of 2009, and definitely the most visually stunning one I’ve seen in my life. And I still thought this was very humorous.

  27. FunnehKat says:

soooz wats u sain iz lolspeek isnt funnehz? well your name really fits the sh- stuff you say.

  28. AngelsBreath says:

Wow, okay nerdy fan boys, news flash: No matter how much you kiss James Cameron’s ass on teh interwebz, you will never get to suck his dick. Plz, get a life. You give true sci-fi fans, the ones with A SENSE OF HUMOR, a bad name. I’m so sick of you douchey little idiots whining about “OMG, they’re bashing a genius!” and “Well, obviously *giggle snort in that dorky little way* these people missed the whole point of the movie, it was about racial tensions in *insert country here*.”
Please, for the love of GAWD, move out of mommy’s basement. Joe Hawtness is the only one allowed to live like that.
And to the lolspeakers: Keep rawkin teh lolspeak, n mae ceiling cat kik ur azzez! Cuz noe mattur wat, teh kitteh iz grate!

  29. peepee says:

this is like pocahontas but in the future and with blue skinned people instead. having the same story it’s fine, nothing has changed since the ancient greeks in terms of storytelling… the problem is that it’s soooo long, cheesy, boring and the main problem is that there’s nothing deep about the story… it’s just presented in such a plain way… i don’t know. i don’t see the appeal of it or the justification for all the hype. i appreciate the technological advancements achieved thanks to this film… but apart from that… nothing

  30. supercalifragilisticexpialadocious says:

just saw the movie and it was awesome.. this post is awesome too :D

  31. Erik the Dude says:

Any plot can be oversimplified to this point. The problem is when the people who do it honestly think there’s nothing more to it. Then at the other end, there’s the whiny fanboys who can’t take a fucking joke.
Personally, I thought Avatar was a great movie. Not an entirely original concept by any means, but the execution and presentation were both impressive. But I don’t have my head so far up my own ass that I can’t chuckle at this graph.

  32. thomas says:

    Lol.
    I watched this movie yesterday
This isnt even close to the storyline.
    Really.

  33. dingus says:

I loved this movie so hard that afterwards I stood in the parking lot to beat up people who didn’t like it, and I thought this was funny.

  34. jesus says:

i loved the movie and i still think this is hilarious

  35. somebody says:

    movie = great…
    AND…
    comic = funny.

Yes, the two are not mutually exclusive.

  36. lars says:

Thought it was funny before seeing the movie…
    Saw the movie…
    Still think it’s funny.
    /PEW PEW!!! PEW!!!

  37. Charlie Oscar Delta says:

I am offended by this mockery of sheer awesome

  38. AngelsBreath says:

Okay, the movie was *AWESOME*! However, I went to see it AFTER reading this comic, and I kept cracking up, ESPECIALLY during the epic fight scene! My husband looked at me like “wtf?” amd I just said “Pew pew pew!” I think he thinks I have tourettes syndrome now! But yeah, the comic? Dead on!

  39. Jordan says:

Wow there are alot of really whiny people on here. Avatar is a great movie. Just because someone parodies a movie, does not always mean they are dissing it, its just in good fun. Grow up and get a sense of humor people.

  40. gwest says:

Ha! Wish I had just read this instead of seeing the movie. I can has my time back??

  41. [...] describing all the problems of Avatar. There are also lots of websites that mock the movie, and deservedly so. In fact, I’m finding all the dialogue about Avatar to be more intriguing than the movie [...]

  42. johnson says:

thought that movie was decent, 3d was awesome but plot was only good. overall pretty happy with it. this summary missed the actual plot of the movie though so not very funny.

  43. Hutch says:

White guy goes in, goes native, saves the day.

  44. I am Anonymous! >:D says:

    Summary of Avatar.

Now I wonder why people find this to be such a good movie :P .

  45. red kitteh says:

great lol comic! Avatar 2 – Blue Kitteh Piccaninnies coming soon!

  46. Jordan says:

Thing is, this can be done with almost any movie, Ive noticed alot of these kind of comic strips on stumble recently, and people always think its shows how “dumb” that movie was, but its quite simple to show all movies in this light. Except for the real fucked up one lol

  47. Bertz) says:

    i don’t know this movie………….. why?

    cause i did’nt watch it…

just half of it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i gues….

  48. gigbot23 says:

What’s scary is it might be all true.
    Avatar has 9 Oscar nominations.

  49. rap-rap says:

better you watch the movie…….i should say you’ll miss a part of your life if can’t watch it….
…the movie basically gives us the idea how to take care of what’s left in us…..
the movie is the exact definition of what MOVIE is…..

  50. craplord says:

    pocahontas

  51. Duderoth says:

    Ferngully .

  52. qwetw says:

    pocahontas

  53. script0r says:

    wall-e

  54. ampashasnoheart says:

Any one, and especially any member of AMPAS, who votes for this spectacle has no clue as to what filmmaking is (and I mean the Hollywood way) and what storytelling is. kthanksbye.

  55. duhhh says:

    alice in wonderland

  56. movieCrit says:

ampashasnoheart… Your an idiot, if its so simple to make such a movie that can win so many awards.. then do it, your living in tunnel vision, blinded by all the shit movies out today that have poluted the creative minds of true film making. Now a brilliantly made movie comes along and just because most people cant grasp the concept of what life is actually about, they dont see the trueth through the plot of this story and inturn complain, dumb people are dumb!!!!!!!

bottom line its a gr8 movie that has won many awards and has a heart striking story line… top shelf stuff BRA!

    • Zack_Black says:

Won 3 Academy Awards, all for visuals, and got beat out by his ex-wife’s boring ass movie. James Cameron FAIL. ‘bottom line its a gr8 movie’ sub-par*

  57. David says:

So what if it follows a similar story to Pocahontas, Ferngully, or Wall-E?

By that logic, Eragon, Star Wars, and The Lord Of The Rings areal the same. Yet, very different qualities and contexts.

I’m glad a sci-fi movie that talks about indigenous struggle became so popular, but it’s depressing how many people miss the obvious fact that its an allegory for stuff that happens to people HERE and NOW, on EARTH!

Btw the comixed is hilarious. kthxbye.

    • Zack_Black says:

‘By that logic, Eragon, Star Wars, and The Lord Of The Rings areal the same’ uhhhhh….no? Avatar has the exact same story line as Pocahontas, and is trying to push the same point as Ferngully. Eragon, Star Wars, and The Lord Of The Rings have nothing in common except that in both movies they use swords. Bottom line Avatar = overrated

  58. Garnet says:

Avatar was the stupidest movie I’ve seen in a while. The plot was horrendously overdone, the characters one dimensional at best, written specifically to fit that “plot” at worst. It looked pretty, but that’s it. And I’m so sick of the military-trashing! My friend’s brother – a MARINE! – risks his life every day for us, and, yes, for James Cameron’s fat ass too, and her brother deserves better than some stupid movie slagging off at the “evil, evil army people.”

    • Badboi says:

Your stupid brother risks his meaningless life for a bunch of arabian peasants who don’t even want him there. Wake up, you stupid f**k.

      • Zack_Black says:

He’s there because his country needs him there. Don’t talk shit about the troops just because you don’t have the balls to join up.

  59. Me! says:

Every story has already been told, so it’s not news Avatar’s has been as well.
If it gets the Oscar (which means nothing, really, we all know that) it isn’t for the plot, but for the whole movie.
If you enjoyed it, great, that’s what entertainment’s for, if you didn’t, fine, it’s not your thing.
    Don’t overthink it.

  60. merrr says:

    YOUR ALL REALLY STUPID(:

except for the people who said this movie was a super gay thing that really sucks and has no originality or greatness to it whatsoever. LAME.

    go ahead.
    argue with me.
i’m off eating pie by now ^^

  61. maikoka1 says:

    lmao
    really funny xDD :D

  62. Cicmimiricmi says:

Omg Avatar movie sux big time, tnx godz there is some1 mature enuf to make a comic like this lulz

  63. Maru-san says:

She should have said: Oh noes! He’s be stealin’ my planet!”

  64. FadeOut says:

Lol… the funny part bout it, is that it’s true… the movie sucks ^_^

  65. Mellamotom says:

avatar is pure garbage… they put a bunch of special effects and people like it… its like a lazer show… to me, “Pocahontas enters the Matrix” is the perfect title for that pure excuse of a movie…

  66. rocon5 says:

reminds me of 5 secons films

  67. rocon5 says:

    second*
